(kits)
These
coaches are Brandbright EasiCoach kits. There are two 3rd class and one
Brake/1st. These coaches consist of clear perspex shells with coloured roof and

sheet is applied carrying the details of the coaches. Additionally, door handles
and roof vents have been added, as well as light fittings with a battery pack
slung underneath.

- Type : 4 Wheel Open, Maker - LGB
This
is a pair of coaches from the LGB starter set. They have been modified simply to
take away the 'Toy Train' colours by painting with car spray paints. Passengers
have been added.

- Type : Open Bogie Coaches, Maker - Bachmann
There
are three different types of the Bachmann coach here, a Combine, a Coach and an
Observation Coach. Although purchased in the Denver and Rio Grande maroon
colours, they have been repainted and lettered in the CSLR colours of Blood and
Custard (well, Rover Damask Red and Gazelle Beige!). These coaches have staff
added to the balconies and chains across the gangway. A bell has also been
fitted to the combine to allow for Push-Pull working. The Combine carries a
battery at one end and each coach has its interior lights connected via plugs
under the balconies. See here for more
pictures.

- Type : Bogie Observation Coach, Maker - ?(kit)
This coach has been awaiting new bogies and wheels
to return it to service following the gauge change from 32mm to 45mm. It sat
on small rigid plate bogies but the wheels were too small
to allow reliable running. The coach was not glazed and the couplings were
removed for use elsewhere.
 May
2007 - Number 9 has finally been returned to service after six years
languishing in the shed. The bogies and wheels have been replaced with those
originally fitted to Engineer's tender, adjustment of the bolsters was
necessary to correct the height and new running boards have been fitted.
Damage to the window frames has been repaired and 2mm glazing sheet fixed in
place, significantly improving the rigidity of the body. A working tail lamp,
brake hoses and internal guards equipment has been added. The seating has been
upholstered and seat backs provided for the passengers. A centre buffer is
needed for the trailing end to complete the overhaul. Shown here on her first
outing since outshopping with The Chief, she will add much needed passenger
and luggage space to the rakes of four-wheelers.

- Type : Golden Mountain Express Pullman, Maker - LGB
This is LGB's finest and boasts full interior decoration and lighting. Although
designed for track power, the lighting has been converted to battery, kept in
the loo. The coach has been populated with about 15 passengers, easily visible
through the large windows, especially so when the lights are on. This is by far the longest and
heaviest item of stock on the line, but benefits from ball bearings in the
axles and compensated bogies to ensure a smooth ride.

- Type : 4 Wheel Compartment Coach, Maker - LGB
A
new addition to the passenger stock, this vehicle is rather elderly and when
it arrived from another railway in dark green livery it brought its own
eight-legged occupant. However, as a companion vehicle to coach number nine,
it was refurbished before use, being turned out in a matching livery.
Unfortunately, the 'passenger' had to leave during workshop time and has not
seen fit to return.

 Hot
on the heels of No.11 is a further coach, rescued from an unsure future
in a dodgy sales emporium (that'll be eBay then). This time, a more luxurious
vehicle with end balconies and curtained windows, although boasting a separate
compartment that used to be of a higher class, refurbishment has labelled the
coach of equal standing throughout. Kinu is offering to show you around......
